The Slipper of 10,000 Hapinesses

Packing up the last box of ornaments, I realized the Fu Slipper was missing.
Once belonging to a doll, this slipper was used mainly on our Siamese cat, Wan Fu.  Her name means 10,000 Happinesses.
To this day, I have no idea how our daughter Diana managed to lace the ribbons up the cat's haunches...and more, that Fu Kitty let her.  Anyone else trying it would be missing an arm or a leg.

Looking for this slipper led me circuitously to a world of Magic:

If I had $5,000 right now, I would hop on a plane and be there at this, the biggest world-wide party and celebration tradeshow in the world.
It isn't just about Christmas, but decorations and party goods for every holiday, party and event through the year.

My favorite place to look would be the trend shows.  There are entire galleries filled with the ambience and new products of the predicted hot trends for this year.  Here are the top 4 groupings of trends they are listing now:

obviously the "Authentic" trend will be big here with crafters in the states.  Here's what they say about it:
" AUTHENTIC
Cherished pieces and collectables with a patina are characteristic of this natural style. The fusion of old and new creates original recycling chic – simple, uncontrived and individual."

And what does that have to do with the Slipper of 10,000 Happinesses?
Well, if I hadn't missed it, I wouldn't have remembered the anecdotes, and decided to blog;
I wouldn't have dug through old photos, looking for an image to scan;
I wouldn't have gone to get my camera and get sidetracked by the computer;
I wouldn't have been curious to know if others were also planning for next Christmas;
I wouldn't have googled it to see;
I wouldn't have found Christmasworld;
and I wouldn't have had the pleasure of seeing dozens of celebration photos and products, all leading up to Next Christmas.
I had several thousand Happinesses, doing those things.

 Wan Fu.
10,000 Happinesses
somehow, somewhere, in Kitty Heaven,  Fu is still living up to her name.
