How To Photos: Granny Zanni Nose Mask

We had this pair of  Commedia dell'Arte Zanni masks.  My partner created the rich, traditional brown and gold one for a man.  I frankly can't stand the things, so tried to come up with the most bizarre companion mask I could think of: Roses, Ribbons, and Embroidered netting.  A granny Zanni.

This project uses a Paper Mache Cassanova Mask,
*Acrylic metallic gold craft paint, sprayed in a Preval spray gun,
*Mod Podge, with a sponge brush, for Lace Netting, with brush over all to seal
*Decorative Braid to cover seams and inside portions, applied with hot glue
*Wired ribbon and porcelain flowers to adorn, applied with hot glue.

Tips:
*Take the elastic off before you spray paint it.  The apply fresh when the project is through.

*When using acrylics in a Preval Spray gun; Work Fast!
Then Clean Fast!  Spray water thru the gun, until it run clear.  Once acrylics dry in the gun, it can't be re-used.

*You'll need to use your fingers to stretch and stick the lace on the underside of the mask.

* Plan extra time to cushion the inside of the mask, wherever it touches the skin.
Soft trim or cotton knit over batting, applied with a glue gun, would work well.

The "Big Mistake" on this project

1.  God Bless whoever wore this one.  I ran out of time, and didn't cushion the cheek area, poor souls!
