Fawkes Over Phoenix

Fawkes the Phoenix appeared over, ...yes, well, Phoenix, last night.   It was a cloud formation southwest of Scottsdale, that is only possible during the autumn/winter skies we get here in the valley;
when the air is especially clear, cool and windless.

The sunset lingered with only that one cloud:  a bright gold Phoenix on a turquoise sky.

I sooooooooo wanted my camera!!

The shape was almost exactly like the Firebirds Pauline Baynes drew, for "The Voyage of The Dawn Treader".

Most people, however, would have seen Fawkes, the Phoenix, from "Harry Potter".

My sister would have seen a Quetzal in flight--with a very big topknot!

Oddly enough no one seemed to notice.  No one happened to shoot that image, and put it up on a blog.  No one around me was looking up.  It lasted for almost 45 minutes, during "drive time".

It's funny that I was thinking of Fawkes, so close to the 5th of November.
His appearance (or at least his name) could be a precursor for "Bonfire Night" tomorrow!

The Phoenix symbolizes "rising from the ashes" after a rough time.
I'm going to see this apparition as a good omen;
for Phoenix, Scottsdale, and me!
